David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

The author

Best-selling writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of questionable actions involving female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, which features a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
