The Reform UK leader Claims Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “harming young minds” by telling children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to these assertions, the head of a major education union dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his political career on dog-whistle politics and now, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their unions for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks indicated the group would reform the system and the curriculum. He said: “We face an enormous task with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves as opposed to current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned at school, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 caused widespread disruption in schools and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He said such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. It offers these beautiful courses for free to every interested learner.”
